Preparing for DELF B1 or B2: a realistic study plan
Success requires both French ability and familiarity with the tasks, timing and assessment criteria.
Start with a diagnostic across listening, reading, writing and speaking. A single overall level can hide uneven skills: you may read at B2 but speak hesitantly at B1. Your plan should give extra attention to weaker areas without abandoning the rest.
What preparation should include
- exam-style tasks completed within the real time limit;
- language for structuring and supporting an opinion;
- regular corrected writing with a log of recurring errors;
- mock speaking tests followed by precise feedback.
Steady practice over several weeks is more effective than an extreme last-minute push. An error log often helps more than another grammar book.
